It is mainly made of a variety of materials, such as aluminum, paper and polyester, and the photosensitive coating on its surface is particularly critical. The coating is usually a mixture of polymers, monomers and photoinitiators. When exposed to ultraviolet rays, the coating hardens and becomes insoluble, forming a template that can transfer ink to paper.

II. There are many types of PS boards​
(I) Positive PS boards​
When positive PS boards are exposed, the light-exposed areas become insoluble, while the unexposed areas remain soluble, thus forming an image. This feature makes it excellent in printing fine lines and small fonts, and can accurately present clear and sharp details. It is widely used in scenes such as books and magazine inner pages printing that require extremely high text clarity. ​
(II) Negative PS boards​
Negative PS boards are the opposite of positive PS boards. After exposure, the exposed areas of negative PS boards remain soluble, while the unexposed areas become insoluble, thereby generating an image. It is particularly suitable for printing large areas of pure color areas, such as the background color printing of packaging boxes, etc., which can ensure uniform and full colors without obvious color differences. ​

Thermosensitive PS boards do not take the usual path. Instead, they use heat to create templates instead of traditional lighting methods. In application scenarios that require large-scale printing, such as large-scale newspaper printing, thermal PS plates have greatly improved production efficiency and reduced costs with their efficient and fast platemaking characteristics. ​
